Zenzi, at Bandra, Mumbai, has turned out to be an awesome venue, playing host to a variety
gigs over the past few months. Singer Shefali performed at Zenzi on the 21st of July backed by
a brilliant band comprising Daryl (Keys), Yohan Paes (bass), Sanjay Joseph (guitar) and Gino Banks (bass).

The band warmed up and got things going with an instrumental in the form of Miles Davis' So What.
Shefali then made her presence felt and performed a host of covers ranging from Maroon 5's Sunday Morning to
Sting's Seven Days to My Favourite Things. The band was performing to a good crowd turn out and everybody really seemed to be into what was happening.

Amongst the songs performed the other night, Shape Of My Heart, Ain't No Sunshine and My favourite things certainly seemed to be the hightlights. My favourite things, was not only Shefali's, but the entire bands strongest performance of the night with Sanjay Joseph delivering an unbelievable, jaw dropping solo that earned him applause and admiration from the entire crowd. Keyboardist Daryl and Bassist Yohan Paes were steady and good without going over the top. Daryl did exhitbit his musicianship with tasteful solos from time to time.

Shefali and the band usually take a song and turn it around, giving it their special treatment before offering a taste of it to the audience, but this gig was slightly different since lots of the tracks were performed straight. The band also performed an original of Sanjay's. A racy, rocking original with a great riff and lots of energy! Shefali and Co. ended the gig with Jamirroquai's disco infused Acid jazz in the form of Cosmic Girl.
