Sanjay Joseph Guitar Workshop

Sanjay Joseph Guitar Workshop 2004 click on....

Sanjay joseph was back in the town .... well not to do with any school.... but in true terms he is gods messenger on a guitar .... for those who dont know ..... I'm talking about Sanjay Joseph (of Ezee Meat fame & a session guitarist for quite a number of well known acts/performers in India). He was back in town for some purpose and that was teaching music. As usual he was here to conduct a guitar workshop arranged by us. This was a part of the series of workshops which we conduct .... well there are plenty more to come so stay tuned or be ready to be loosers!! The workshop started sharp at 10 am ...it was supposed to be in the open but the night before the heavens above had some other ideas. All the same thats not the important point. He soon ran through the basics since almost all of them were not beginners. We then moved on to different ways of jamming and on to blues/ jazz types of jamming on pentatonics & also scales.
this itself was a truely great experience for most of us since at the early level we all tend to play only songs or something that we know and have been listening for god knows how many times. playing something on your own usually takes a lot of effort & really Sanjay gave us the path for it. After that we also moved to how to change the scales through the jam & come back to it again .... that can be done through modes which he taught us in a simplest way .... he also taught us his perspective towards whatever he was teaching us & that really simplified a lot of stuff for us. In the noon session we jammed on various tracks & did a lot of techincal stuff with modes & different types of chords ... not the typical ones ....myself bieng in a part of a heavy metal act & mostly dealing with bar chords & power chords it was really a new experience & certainly a great exposure towards the other side of music. At the end of the day he also taught us various techniques like using a whammy in all possible ways & also to deal with artificial & natural harmonics. In true words it was one of the best time we had with our guitars where we realized that there is something beyond we think about music ... & all thanks to Sanjay for making us think so .... through messengers like Sanjay music will always live on !!!!!
